The Ears Have It

Finally, after a long weekend of waiting, we were able to see the E.N.T. today and receive the final verdict on how to heal the persistent infection in Baby Bella's ears. No surprise, the recommendation was for the insertion of ventilation tubes - and soon.

Baby Bella is to report to the Medical Center at 6:00AM on Wednesday morning and will undergo a quick, 30 minute, procedure to install the tubes. We are being told the results will be almost immediate in terms of relieving the large build up of infection behind her ear drums.

It has been a long and sometimes emotional day, but in the end we are again reminded that this is a routine and painless procedure. No I.V.'s required - they will put her to sleep with a mask and then return her to our arms within 45 minutes. From their lips to God's ears.

Nana rallied the family with a meat loaf dinner so that Mommy didn't have to cook. I am still a firm believer that there is no problem hugs, laughter, and meat loaf can't fix.

The photo diary from the Doctor's office and the day tells our story well. One minute Baby Bella is playing and laughing - the next minute she is grabbing her ears and screaming. Another 36 hours and our little gift should be well on her way to recovery. Amen!
