It Must Be Summer
A carousel with my favorite three year old and golf with my favorite ten year old. Yep, it must be summer.
PS: Nice grip and follow through, Sky man. You must have a good teacher.

Going & Coming
Bella preparing to leave for a day trip excursion with Mommy and brother - her Hello Kitty lunch box and Princess back sack in tow. Then the kids announcing their return by coming into my office and jumping into my lap.
The best part of the going...is the coming home again!
PS: Lord, always bless their Going and Coming. Allow them safe passage, ample fun, sound wisdom, adventure, noble callings, loyal friends and love stories that last a life time. Let them be fruitful and multiply. And the let their kids and their kids, kids be called "the people of God."
Even so, Lord Jesus. Yes & Amen.

Planting Partners
I pause for a moment to give thanks for the work ethic my kids demonstrate. They come from a long history of working class people and they seem to take pride in the process.
I announced that I had flowers to plant, Bella said "I want to help." Deborah said, "I'll wash the cars while you plant." Skyler said "I want to help." I said, "Thank you, Lord for my kids and their work ethic."
Now, they are kids. Soon enough they were riding bikes, pushing baby doll strollers and blowing bubbles in the yard. Nevertheless, they wanted to help and eagerly joined in.
So I lift my glass to the working class people - Bella and Skyler included.
Side Show
And did I mention she played golf? Yep. Through her clubs over her shoulder and headed out through the yard like a pro.
And don't forget the water. You have stay hydrated during your round.

Breakfast Announcement
AT LONG LAST! We have a breakfast food that Bella loves. Our picky eater has fallen in love with Eggo Waffles. PTL!
It is by no means the first time she has tried them, but suddenly they seem to be her favorite food. It's the first thing I hear in the morning - no, the second thing.
"DADDY!" Followed by "Waffles? Make me waffle?" Gladly. She loves them. We love to make them.

Goggle DNA
She gets it honest. Bella had a great time in the "builders center" at Storybook Village. Her use of the goggles brought back fond memories of Christmas 2004 with Skyler and Grandpa Blair.
Skyler's Home Depot set was a big hit that Christmas. And not just with Skyler - the whole family got into the building mode. Those tools were his primary toys of choice for many, many months.
You've just got to love it when good DNA brings back good memories.

Candy Necklace
Every girl remembers her very first candy necklace and I am sure Bella will remember hers. I am guessing it was the sugar rush that made her want to then climb the tree.

Grandma Sleep Over
Bella enjoyed having Grandma for a sleep over after her Princess Party. Bella was too excited to go bed upstairs so she fell asleep on Grandma's downstairs bed.
The next morning, the girls gathered at the kitchen table to sort through Bella's Birthday Bounty.

Princess Pool Party
A spontaneous pool / sprinkler party erupted in our backyard after the Princess Party. Proving yet again, you never know what will happen when you wake up in the House of Cain. We keep telling ourselves we are in charge and raising the kids.
I can't even say it with a straight face. Even they laugh when I say it like that. Oh, well. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
