Grandma Cain's Funeral

The Going Home service for Mom / Grandma.  We already miss her, but we haven't lost her.  We know where she is and look forward to seeing her again on the other side.

I love how the hymns of my childhood flood in at exactly the right time.
"There's a happy land of promise over in the great beyond.
Where the Saved of earth shall soon the glory share
Where the souls of men shall enter and live on forever more...
Everybody will be happy over there.

We will meet the one who saved us
Who kept us by his grace.
And who brought us to that land so bright and fair.
We will praise His name forever as we look upon his face.
Everybody will be happy over there."

Paying Respect

Going to pay respects to Grandma.  There were tears and laughter as we simeoultaenelous mourned and celebrated Grandma.  This is one of the great irony's of life.

Celebrating, Mom / Grandma.  Everybody needs a Helen.

I'll Fly Away

Mom went to be with the Lord this afternoon at 3:30.  The first girl I loved has entered into rest. Love you forever, Mom.

Just a few more weary days and then
    I'll fly away.
To a land where joy shall never end
    I'll fly away.
    ...
    I'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away, in the morning
When I die, hallelujah by and by
    I'll fly away.

Word Search

This little girl is getting really good at Word Search.  She even found words like "backpack" and "fireplace."   Good times with Isabella over breakfast.

A Bird, A Plane...

...It's a Hot Air Balloon.

Isabella came running into the front yard to tell me that something was in the air above the back yard. "come quick" she exclaimed as she grabbed my hand and dragged me into the backyard.  I expected a bird, a hawk, maybe and owl or eagle.  Nope, it was indeed a Hot Air Balloon.

You just gotta love Williamson County.

Refresh, Reset

Another week, another clean.  The end of each business week means it's time to clean out the business car.  Growing up, it was my chore to help Dad load and unload his business van every week. It looks like Isabella has found a way that she can pitch in and help.

Prettier and sweeter help can't be found.

Happy Selfies

Back home with the kids, everyone is in a playful mood.  Mommy and the kids decide to do some celebratory selfies.   Silly family, couldn't love them more.

Iron Moments

It was a Proverbs 27:17 day for Mommy and Daddy.  "As Iron sharpens Iron, so one person sharpens another."

We enjoyed spending quality time with our fellow professionals in the funeral industry and are better for having done so.

Harder than It Looks

Ok, maybe not.  The morning was spent at Gatlinburg Golf Course with my customers.  While I always enjoy the fellowship, I really enjoyed the views on this golf course.

Hole number 12 is a true golf masterpiece.  The tee box is elevation 1224'. The green is positioned 55 yards below the tee box.  The distance is 186 yards but it plays like 150 yards.  I found the green with a 7 iron and parred the hole.

Great golf at a great venue!

Big Wheel

An early wake up call, kids off to school, suitcase packed and it's off to Gatlinburg for a three day conference.  After dinner, Mommy and Daddy took time to explore the new Island area of Pigeon Forge - we rode the big wheel and enjoyed the Vegas style water/light show.

Missing the kids but it is wonderful to have my bride with me on this trip.

Purple Sunday

It appears Isabella and Daddy were on the same color page on this beautiful Sunday.  After church, Bella put on the head phones while we drove for a Mexican lunch.

A beautiful day like this calls for lunch outside on the patio. And with my purple princess in my lap - even better.

2014 TN State Fair

A beautiful Saturday afternoon to sneak away to the State Fair.

Ride Regret

Skyler was shacking his head after he strapped in for the free fall ride.  He later declared "never again" as he staggered off.
