That Mini Mule

Apparently, we are starting an animal rescue, but in my defense, this poor guy had to have a home.  So....we are bringing him home, hair and all.

First Up, Hair Cut

We are not even taking this guy off the trailer before we give him a proper hair cut.  A hair cut has never made so much difference in one of God's creatures.

Welcome Home, Tex

We have a mini horse and mini donkeys, why not a mini mule?  And knowing we saved this little guy, feels amazing.

Chicken Noodle Chickie

As you may know, one of Isabella's favorite meals is Nana's chicken noodle soup.  Tonight I came home to Isabella making that very soup from scratch.  It was amazing!!!!!! Did I mention was amazing? Can't wait for the next time.

Fence Feeding

Adding Clara and Desert to the pasture has sure complicated the feeding process.  Sometimes we find ourselves dodging horses who are jockeying for a spot.  Tonight we decided to go back to fence feeding so that we are out of the pasture and it's easier to feed all four at once.  It worked like a charm!!!!  Love it when a plan comes together. 

Sunrise Shod

Ms. Clara had the misfortune of throwing two shoes over the weekend so we no choice but to do a sunrise shoeing this morning.  She wasn't the most willing partner but she did good and is perfectly shod again.

Father's Day 2023

A Fathers Day Daddy/Daughter shoot  - what could be better? Bella and I had great time honing our skills at the range. 

Happy Father's Day Horse Dad

Doesn't every Dad muck the pasture with a gun on his side on Father's Day?  The @#$% doesn't end just because it's Father's Day.  Yes, that's a smile on my face. 

Hoof Loose

And there you have it!  A big day on Sedona Ridge as we were given the green light to set Desert to pasture with the rest of the ladies.  As you would expect, she was cool and collected - didn't let them excite her at all.  I think the others were a little disappointed they couldn't rattle her.    They are hoof loose and fancy free.

The Legendary Woody

Another successful day of working with Dad.  We finished with an Apple Barn dinner and a stop at The Woodie.  Isabella drove her own go-cart for the first time!!!! She got spun around and didn't lose her head - she did amazing on one of the most slick and difficult tracks around.  Well done, baby girl!

Work Perk

Travelling to funeral homes with Dad does have it's perks.  We made it back to the hotel by dusk and Isabella insisted on a swim.  Too cold for me but she enjoyed herself.  This mountain breeze is cool in the evenings.
