Pink Jeep to Lake Mead

The Cain's were up early for a Pink Jeep adventure to Lake Mead.  Stunningly beautiful creation!  I find great joy and solace in these majestic rock formations.

Hoover Dam Bridge

The largest arched span bridge in the United States, this bridge is awesome in its own right.  Amazed that the arch was constructed from two different sides, simultaneously  - the old meet you in the middle concept.  Only this time 840  feet in the air above the Colorado River - a spot known as Black Canyon.

High Scalers

A fitting tribute to the high scalers. These hard working gentlemen has the most dangerous and high paying job during the construction of  the dam.  They would repel down the canyon wall, drill a hole in the rock, place explosives and then swing away while the blast occurred.  Then swing back and chisel away loose rock - 10 hours a day, seven days a week.

High scalers made up a large percentage of 96 deaths that occurred during the construction of Hoover Dam.

We are THAT family.

Gilley's

Mark one thing off of Daddy's Dining Bucket List.  I always thought I would try Gilley's in Texas but we couldn't pass up the chance to enjoy some good BBQ chicken, pork and brisket in Las Vegas.  And they serve sweet tea - SCORE!

Circus Circus

Isabella showing off the fashion glasses she acquired at the Circus Circus arcade.   We learned it's nice to be inside when it's 110 outside.

108 in the Shade

What do you do when it's 108 degrees in the shade?  You find a cool down pool - welcome to summer in the desert.  We started here at the Garden pool  - one of ten pools at the Venetian.  My guess is that we will experience all ten before the week is out.

Arriving in Style

A special ride to a special dining experience.  The family was all smiles for a rare first class limo ride.

Hell's Kitchen

Check one more thing off the bucket list for Deborah and Skyler - dinner at Gordon Ramsey's, Hell's Kitchen restaurant.  Can't wait to see how it stacks up to what we see on the TV reality show.

Branding the Kitchen

Some come for the food but for me the concept of branding a reality TV show and  watching how the branding follows through every aspect of the business - that is interesting.  I have to give it Chef Ramsey, he is as good at marketing as he is at cooking.
