Paint the Duck

We brought back rubber, paintable ducks for the kids to enjoy on rainy days like this.  They made the most of the painting opportunity.  Choosing to also paint their wooden ducks we picked up in Berea last year.

Just Ducky

The kids were excited to showoff their Peabody Duck T-shirts that Mom and Dad brought home for them.

Especially Skyler, who loved his Ducks coming on the front and going on the back.

My parents went to the Peabody and all we got were these T-shirts.  Not!

But the Garage Looks Good

Bella and I spent a few hours cleaning the garage Saturday afternoon and then Daddy spent a couple of hours in the ER getting staples in his head.  But the garage?  It looks great.

By nature, a guy always has one more thing to do.  Having successfully cleaned the garage, I thought I might do one more thing before heading in with Bella Boo and calling it a day. It was the one more thing that got me.

I managed to hit my head on the frame of the garage door while climbing the ladder. It hurt, but not too bad.  And then I felt something wet running down my forehead and saw Bella turn in horror and run into the house for Mommy.

A big thank you to my normally blood averse wife who stayed and comforted me while my head was stapled back together. My apologies to my kids who freaked out at the site of blood running down my head.

Me? I'm fine.  My hair?  Not so sure about that.

Memphis - Day 2

It's hard work, but someone has to do it.  Wink, Wink.

Walking in Memphis...

...with my feet ten feet off of Beale.

A wonderful night of blues and barbecue at BB King's.  Beale did not disappoint, it was raining blues on Beale.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch

The kids enjoyed a day at school followed by play time with Nana.  Bella played building blocks and, and...no wait for it....cleaned her own closet.  Wow!  Daddy is impressed even from four hours away.

Looking forward to getting back to hug those little ones.

Tale of Two Cities - Memphis

Mommy and I departed for Memphis to attend a conference at the legendary Peabody Hotel.  If it's Memphis, it's got to be barbecue.   The Rendezvous came highly recommended and did not disappoint.

So very nice to be away with my soulmate.  We are feeling very ducky here in the Peabody.

Tale of Two Cities - Spring Hill

Back home we see the kids enjoying time outside after school.   And a post bath bowl of ice cream with big smiles on their face.

Good to know they are not missing us too much.
