Joe Ben

Our industry lost a giant this week. As Deborah and I drove to Central City to pay respects to Joe Ben, I struggled to wrap my head around this loss. I found myself repeatedly saying, "I've never known funeral service without Joe Ben."

Joe Ben was a consummate professional. Yet despite his larger than life personality, he always had time to encourage and coach. With Joe Ben, I never had the feeling he was the buyer and I was the seller. Rather he made me feel like we were partners in the higher calling of serving families. And he took pride in both the partnership and the serving.
Joe Ben was a guy who made you want to be better. You never wanted to disappoint Joe Ben. I couldn't help but smile as I noticed the weather. It seems we went from one of the worst February weather weeks in memory to today, one of the warmest and sunniest February days on record. Perhaps even God didn't want to disappoint Joe Ben.
Rest in Peace, Joe Ben. Great was your faithfulness. Great is your reward.

From This to This

In 4 days, we went from the snow covered castle in College Grove to this strange orange ball in the sky and the Jeep roof down.  Wow!  Tennessee, you really are something.

Starbucks BFF

My Starbucks BFF and I made a stop on our way to pick up Mom.

Farm Snow

Our first chance to get up to the farm to see the snow there.

Farm Snow Angels

They just had to.

Jeeping & Geeking

Isabella is (her words) geeking today.

Slingshot

A visit to the Polaris store, just for fun.  We didn't buy anything but sure wish we did.  Doesn't cost anything to look, right?

Shared Space

I woke up to see these two trying to share my space.  Good snuggles but I was up on a mission.  Deborah is bringing Nana home from Vandy today so there is lots to do.

Dual Effort

Papa's old snow shovel, my strength.  We got the driveway and sidewalk cleared off.

Nana is Home

Giving thanks for a uneventful trip to and from Vandy.  Nana has done amazing and now has a new heart valve. Onward, upward to better health.

Kiwi

Look who tried kiwi at Nana's and.....wait for it....liked it.  This girl is on a roll trying new foods.
