four thousand

No matter how you write it, it's still surprising to me.  This is blog post #4,000 for Baby Bella's Blog. Wow! 8 1/2 years later - 4,000 posts and almost 10,000 pictures. It truly is the story of her life.

Scottsdale Heat

This sums up our entire Friday.  Our last day in Arizona, we spent the day enjoying 90 degree heat by the pool.  What a great day for relaxing and enjoying the sun.

Sedona

And just like that, we fell in love with Sedona, Arazonia.

Baldwin Trail

First stop, a look at Baldwin trail so that we can see the back side of the rock we will be climbing later in the day.  Can't wait, this is going to be fun.

Pink Jeep - Off Road

We have looked forward to this for a while now, an off-road Pink Jeep tour through Diamondback Gulch.  A rough and bumpy road with steep climbs and descents.  FUN!

From the Gulch

Some our view from the Gulch.

Cathedral Rock

Our view of Cathedral Rock from the Back O' Beyond Road trail head. Looks daunting but we are determined to conquer this rock. We are racing the sunset but here we go.

Cathedral Rock This Way

The majestic view before you and behind you makes it difficult to focus on the trail. This may be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Team Charles on Cathedral

We all have our own difficult mountains to climb.  Back home, Charles continues to climb his.  Today, Deborah is climbing this rock as a member of Team Charles.  She can do it.  He can do it.  Let's climb. This rock can't get in my way.

Onward / Upward

This one is part hike, part climb, part thin air.  We are having to muster all of our inner strength to summit Cathedral Rock.

God's Double Vision

In what I am sure was an intentional metaphor for life, God has this amazing scenery just behind you as you climb Cathedral Rock.   As in life, you are starring at this difficult, daunting and dangerous challenge that seems insurmountable.   Then you turn around to see the mighty hand of God and the beauty of his work.  You then turn around to face the rock with a whole new determination.  In the words of a Brooks & Dunn song,  I Saw God Today.
