Steamboat Surprise

We woke up to extreme cold and wind but headed onto the slopes anyway.  Once we arrived, staff informed us that lifts were closed because they had clocked wind at 106mph at the summit with windchills of minus 51.  We waited an hour before deciding to turn this day into our off ski, shopping day.  Good thing, by noon they announced that for the first time ever they were shutting down the whole mountain for entire day.
