The Pallet Store
In junk heaven. The girls talked me into stopping by the pallet store. They have grand visions of finding gold and reselling things. I have no idea what the dollar return will be but the happiness return was high. They had a blast today.

Moose the Great
What a great week but it was a slow week for the blog. I am thrilled to be back home and ready to decompress on the patio. Moose the Great is getting really tall, as evidenced by this pic.

Meme Math
Heading out for a week on the road, I left Isabella with this thought for the week. It does seem to capture what so many kids her age are missing. Oh, who am I kidding? It speaks to so many adults also.

Olive in Olive Garden
It was like she had a color theme for the dinner. Isabella in her olive Sedona Ridge shirt and her Olive TN hat that she lifted off of Dennis. A happy girl in her happy place.

Farm Return
The first time in over two weeks that I've felt like working at the farm. The family has done an amazing job of keeping things going. Glad to see the horses are still demanding and only partially grateful. Chief was looking majestic today, despite the mud.

Work Station
Feeling a bit more like myself and needing to get some work done, I escaped to the cabin for a different scenery in my productive time. Rest, work, rest, work....rinse and repeat.

A Shy Baker
I caught Isabella doing some experimental late night baking - she was none to happy to see I had my camera phone out. Sweet girl making sweet treats.

Major Breck Regret
Today was the day we were supposed to fly out to Colorado for our annual ski trip, Isabella even had a new ski coat ready. Then good ole Dad got sick. I was still holding out hope earlier this week but it just wasn't meant to be. I feel bad for the fam, I hated to be the one but it was me. Two full weeks of whatever this is and I'm not much better. For me, the ski trip is almost more fun than the annual beach trip. For the first time in four years, we'll have to skip the ski trip. Here's to better days and better slopes.

Don't
The irony of sitting here sick, listening to Toby Keith's epic anthem, "Don't Let the Old Man In." I'm trying, Toby. I'm trying.

@Deborah Cain
I'm feeling a little better, just not up to par. So thought I'd drop this little meme that so reminds me of my Deborah Cain.

Jobs Dinner
That moment when you realize you are more blessed than Job. I couldn't get out of bed today so Isabella made me home-made chicken noodle soup and I sat up to eat, using the ironing board for a table. If only Job had an Isabella in his life.

Jobs Friends
Woke up being smacked hard by a head / chest cold. These are Jobs friends suffering right along side me.

Grace Wins!
Back for the final day at the Southern Equine Expo. Proud to see our girl Grace win her colt starter challenge. And as a Dad, happy to see so many great role models for my daughter at the Expo.

2024 Southern Equine
Up early and made our way to Mill Coliseum in Murfreesboro for the 2024 Southern Equine Expo. Isabella and Sela attended the horse clinics while I attended the mule clinics. The girls were very impressed with the shooting competition.
Nashville Horse Patrol
We so appreciated the Metro Nashville Police Department bringing their team and their horses. We were all delighted to hear that the horses have a full pension plan, like their riders. One they are retired, the horses have feed and vet care for life. Hats off to you, Nashville Police Department.
Colt Starter
The annual Colt Starter competition is always the highlight of the Expo. Isabella instantly connected with this young lady (Grace) from Chattanooga. Going to be fun to watch over the next couple of days.
Paul Garrison III
What an absolute pleasure to get to spend the day listening, watching, learning and talking to Paul Garrison III. Paul is a national treasure! If you love to study Mules, Paul is your guy! Hoping my schedule will allow me to one day travel with my own Mule to his place in Texas for a personal clinic.
Equine First Aid
Bella and I spent some time learning about Equine First Aid in the TN Equine clinic. I highly recommend this program for any equine owner.
