Jeff Ruby's First

Post performance hunger gripped us as we exited TPAC.  We decided to walk down to Jeff Ruby's for dinner.  An excellent meal, an excellent date.  Isabella was the perfect lady in this fancy restaurant.  Could this day get any better?

Study in Color

Isabella has been begging for a return to the pottery house for an afternoon of art.  I promised her we would do just that the next time we had a rainy day.  That rainy day was today. Isabella did a study in color with an Elephant.  I think she sees them differently than I do.  But that's why they call it art.

Lily's Pot

Stepping off the porch with his size 13 shoes, Skyler accidentally knocked over a flower pot that neighbor Lily Joy had made for herself.  Shoe + clay pot + concrete = broken pot.  Skyler felt awful even though Lily was gracious about the whole thing.  He decided to spend his artisan afternoon crafting a new flower pot for Lily.  He even put her name on it.

Well done, Gentleman Skyler.

Pumpkin Painting

Yes, pumpkin painting in August.  It won't be long until time to decorate for Fall so this, I figured, was a good time to make a pumpkin for my other pumpkin (Deborah.)  Here's to hoping it turns out bright orange after the glazing and firing process.

Stock Girl

I guess we'll need to get with our Human Resource team and make sure Cain-McNatt, Inc. has the proper job description in our associate handbook.  We can certainly no longer say "stock boy" when we have talent like this putting away new product.  Stock boy, stock girl, stock person - around here we just call it family.

Clone Cone's

Lady Juliet came home from her spay with the cone of shame to keep her from licking her incision.  Later in the day Isabella came through my office with a hand made and decorated cone around her stuffed dog, Pinkie.

This is classic Isabella.  I have noticed through the years that she learns and copes by extension.  If she's learning to read, she lines up her dolls and teaches them to read.  If she is grounded, suddenly she is grounding her dolls.  Today, she is learning to care for a dog who has an incision by duplicating that with a stuffed animal.

Classic Isabella!

First Dooney

Someone is all smiles about her first Dooney & Burke.  I guess it was only a matter of time - like mother, like daughter.  Congratulations, Isabella.  You make that bag look good.
