Adventures in Sleep

I had finally finished my project and headed off to bed at 12:45AM last night. One last look in on Baby Bella left me with a gasp and running for the camera.

I found her sitting, leaning, and sleeping in her crib. Apparently, she had sat up to put her paci in her mouth. While sitting, she fell asleep and face planted into the bumper pad. Which you would think might wake her up. But no, she continued on in dream land.

Having documented the occasion, I laid her face down in the crib and she never knew I was there. Of course, I had to go wake up Mommy to show her the pictures. Who then face planted me and said "go to sleep."

Even sleep doesn't halt adventure in the house of Cain. Between two kids we have a sleep walker and a sleep sitter. Hmmm, doesn't anyone just lay down and sleep anymore?

Got Milk?

YES! Mommy started introducing cold foods this week and today, for the very fist time, introduced Baby Bella to cold milk in a sippy cup.

It didn't take long before she was turning it up like an old pro. In true Baby Bella fashion, she played with it more than drank from it but at least she's becoming familiar with the idea. Mommy and I are thinking our formula days are coming to swift conclusion. (Watch me do the happy dance)

We have graduated to diced peaches and carrots, mashed potatoes, bread, Yogurt, and cheese. Let's not forget the cheese. Baby Bella is a true cheese head.

AVA GRACE

Baby Bella took BFF Ava Grace out to dinner to celebrate her birthday. The girls has a grand ole time - you should have seen the floor. Here's to you Ava Grace. My Bella couldn't have a better BFF in the whole world.

Remember all those times I said my girl would never......I was wrong again.

Side Note: I have a new theological conviction. Children are God's way of showing you just how much fun being wrong can be.

Crawlin'

Baby Bella made good use of Grandma's slick wood floors to show off her crawling skills. She has finally managed to get up, and stay up, on her knees long enough to crawl across the floor.

Like any smart girl, she will still sit and cry if she thinks someone is inclined to pick her up. Otherwise she scoots and crawls wherever she want to go. Next up, walking the floor over you. And we don't think it will be that long before our little princess is doing just that.

Baby Dolls

Baby Bella has a new BFF - well, sort of. Grandma bought her a new baby doll and it has become her car companion. She holds her, talks to her, pats her, pulls her hair, and throws her down on the ground. Definitely, Baby Bella has a new BFF.

Waving

Baby Bella has a brand new first!!!!!! She has started waving to "Hi" and "Bye". Mommy was the chosen one to get the first look at this new skill set.

Baby Bella was waving so frantically that her hand is almost an indiscernible blur in the photo. Like her Mommy, Baby Bella fervently believes that anything worth doing is worth doing with gusto. She was waving for all she was worth. (And that's a lot in Daddy's eyes).

Sweet Surrender

Baby Bella surrenders to the temptation of dream land at the end of her day. I would love to know how her dreams unfold. In my mind, she dreams about her Daddy - every night.

Baby Bella is starting to make real progress in self soothing. She reaches for the pacifier if she wakes during the night. She has even been known to hum herself back to sleep. On the occasional morning she will lay in bed and entertain herself until Mommy and Daddy make it to her room.

She has fallen into a wonderfully predictable routine - she falls asleep on our lap and then we lay her on her back in the crib. She remains on her back for two or three hours and then rolls over to sleep on her stomach the rest of the night.

Easy lies the head that wears princess crown in this family.

Spring Fever

Baby Bella was showing her spring fever on this beautiful sunny day. She again thrilled Mommy and Daddy by sleeping through the night in her crib.

Breakfast with Mommy, the day with Ms. Brandi, and then dinner with the boys. Daddy tubbied her, then cuddled her to sleep. Another blessed day in the life of Baby Isabella.

Sunday Best

It's not news to the Baby Bella Blog family that Daddy loves Sunday mornings - and always has. Even more so now that I have two munchkins to dress in their Sunday best and accompany me to the house of worship.

Baby Bella was dressed to kill, or should I say worship, on this particular Sunday morning. Sometimes I think she knows exactly how cute she really is. In the end, a Sunday afternoon nap was in order. Taking after her Grandma Cain already.

Official Blog Notice: The Baby Bella Blog needs a photo editor. Yes, I know these pictures are somewhat redundant. And yes, I know that I could have edited them down a little. In the immortal words of Ron White - "I had the right, I just didn't have the ability."

While they may all look the same to you, I see in each of them moments, memories, faces, experiences, and history that I never want to loose. Remember the mission statement of this blog: "to chronicle the life and times of Isabella Reagan Blythe Cain.

So chronicle we are - maybe too well. Nine months into her young life we have already used 23% of the space Blog spot allows us for this blog. Me thinks we have a problem.

Nika the Nanny

Baby Bella and Mommy hosted a Baby Shower for Nika the Nanny today. Daddy and Skyler snuck downstairs to take pictures and eat cake. The photo's are not a good snap shot of the event because the boys tried to avoid being downstairs for too long.

I am not at all sure Baby Bella is going to like sharing her Nika with another baby. That said, Baby Bella can be proud that she has shown Nika what having a baby is all about - she even scared Nika into taking a class on choking babies. Way to go, girl.

A Day in the Life...

...of Baby Bella and day care. Continuing our journey through a day in the life of Baby Bella. You can see a little more of how she spends her day.

In case you're wondering, her face glistens because of the Vaseline we keep applying to ward off the chapped chubby cheeks.

BEEP! BEEP!

Move out of the way or Baby Bella will move you out of the way. Our little munchkin is starting become more mobile, with the help of walk behind gadgets. It almost makes you question the wisdom of such gadgets.

She does very well as long as she remembers to keep her feet together. She has a tendency to spread her feet apart, which makes it very difficult to take a giant step forward.

Assignment: Go to the grocery store - grab a cart and spread your feet as far apart as possible. Now try walking. Not so easy, uh? Please send your pictures and video's to the Baby Bella Blog and we will post them. LOL!

Delightful Dusk

Everyday should end as this one did. I made it home in time to put Skyler to bed and to feed Baby Bella her bedtime bottle. Something about the eternal optimism of kids that makes you forget your an adult.

Faces

The many faces of Baby Bella - a day in the life of Daycare. Thanks Ms. Brandi, for loving our little critter.
