Good Business / Good Luck

A great FDK Mid Winter made even greater when a customer invited me to attend the KY  / Ole Miss game.  Legendary Rupp Arena  - and a Kentucky win. 
 

Bluegrass Welcome

Driving into Lexington for a business trip, I tell you straight out, I never get tired of the Bluegrass welcome.  Even when it's the third time in eight weeks.

Cheyenne Strolls

It felt like a good day to take a stroll with Cheyenne down into the valley.  Love me some Cheyenne!

Cheyenne Cleans Up

The kids did a great job giving Cheyenne a lower body clean up. Thankful for hot water to do equine baths this time of year.
 

Isabella Grooms Cheyenne

Braided mane, braided tale and a mohawk for the forelock....Isabella had a good time grooming Cheyeene and Cheyenne was a good sport.
 

Cheyenne Gets an X-Ray

We noticed something on the walk about and called for TN Equine to send a vet out.  The X-Ray of that front left foot wasn't what we hoped for.  Cheyenne has an old injury that is really bothering her and may limit her trail endurance.  Some time off coming for Ms. Cheyenne.
 

Cowboy, Cheyenne & Shadows.

The shadows are casting long at the end of a good day on Sedona Ridge. It's been a great day to be a cowboy.
 

The Gaze

Back from East Tennessee after a long, late  day drive. I was decompressing, as I often do, by standing on the deck and gazing out at nothing. The dogs were so confused.  They came over, lined up next me and started to  study the horizon to see what I was looking at.

For Those...

For those that wonder what the girls do when I leave town on business, here you go.  They immerse themselves in canines - ours dogs and other peoples dogs.
 

Outside Labor

Love that my kids are stepping up and carrying their weight around the farm. And the thing that makes me the most happy is that they are loving hanging out together.

Inside Labor

Scoring major points with Mom by putting her raised garden beds together.  Kind of exciting to think we are this close to planting season.

Moose was Loose

Moose gets loose outside and comes back a complete mess.  That calls for a late night unplanned grooming.  Ole boy is about too big for our tubs.

That Feeling

Trying to squeeze in 90 minutes of pasture rolling, I don't like that feeling that they are standing around talking about my technique and the quality of my work.  They certainly seemed to have an opinion. As I see it, the pasture if vastly improved from the mud pit of a week ago.  Glad to see things drying out, whether they acknowledge my effort or not.
 

North / South

Bella and I stopped in for some BBQ while Mom was getting some love from Chief.  Taking care of business both north and south.

"Horseshoe"

Glad the family could come north to Kentucky to join me for the Life Celebration for Horseshoe. We laughed, we cried, we loved and in the end, Isabella needed to catch a cat nap. You know you are saying goodbye to a good man when his saddle is sitting  on the casket. 

Cats, Away, What?

While I'm away the cats play????? That's not how I remember the saying going.

The Road To...

Headed to see good people doing good things. The people doing the difficult thing and the heavy lifting in their community. We all have hero's in life, some of mine are funeral directors.
