After a week of open air restaurants, we were excited to find Prime 951 and enjoy a traditional menu.  Including brewed ice tea. I give it 5 Stars.

That is the Key West slogan.  Although I have to tell you, it's not easy to photograph from land, better from a boat.

Better Than Sex

Everyone says you have to try the dessert restaurant, Better Than Sex.  And so we did.  They specialize in rich chocolate desserts and dessert beverages.  Even their coffee cups are rimmed with chocolate.

Cute concept but for the record, it wasn't.

Morning Massage

We have tried several times through the years to get an outdoor massage by the beach and just like clockwork, it would rain.  Not this time. Deborah and I started our day beachside at the Casa Maria for a couples massage.  Delightful!

Rooster Tales

Have I mentioned the roosters?  They are everywhere and they are loud. Key West is a bird sanctuary so there is little one can do to fix the problem.  Yes, I said problem.  

Their internal clock is all messed up, I attribute that to the amount of second hand smoke one witnesses around Key West. I don't mean tobacco either. The internal rooster clock is off so you hear them crowing from 3:30am to 7am.  That happens to coincide with my peak deep sleep hours. Not a good mix.

I do have to say it was charming during the massage.  These roosters took refuge on the hillside right behind our massage cabana and they let loose with the crowing several times.  The ocean tide in front of you, crowing roosters behind you.  It was charming. Weird, but charming.

The Key West

That's the thing about Key West, people don't wait to be invited to lunch.  They just come over and join your table.  Again, I blame the second hand smoke.

Am I the only one to thinks who she is even more beautiful at the beach?  My soulmate, my love.

Sunrise on Key West

They brag about their sunsets but the sunrise is pretty awesome too. We were among the first people out this morning.  Almost had the sunrise to ourselves.

Blue Heaven

Sunrise, Buoy...seems like we forgot something.  Oh, yeah! Breakfast! Blue Heaven has the best breakfast on the island and you get to sit outside.

Schooner Wharf

Crab cakes, onion rings and fritters at Schooner Wharf -  "A Last Little Piece of Old Key West."  Once again, outside dining with plastic cups and chairs. Nothing pretentious about Key West.

Two Friends Patio

And what better place to celebrate togetherness than at Two Friends Patio Restaurant? And when they say "patio restaurant," believe them.  It's truly a patio with plastic chairs, gravel floor and roosters walking around freely.  And did I mention they have crab legs by the pound?
