The Wait

The girls were entertained by story time in between their performances.  As usual, Isabella was front and center.

Dress Rehearsal

It's official - five is too young for make-up.  Try telling that to the ballet coach.   Mommy did a great job getting Isabella ready for dress rehearsal and guess who loved it?

Picture Window

Perhaps that's why they call it a picture window. I love the view from our kitchen sink.  Hello, Spring - my old friend.

The Dogwood Project

Mommy was honored to meet Kimberly Schlapman from the country group Little Big Town. Kimberly spoke at the TN Convention about her charity, The Dogwood Project.  Don't you love it when you meet a famous person that is real and genuine?

Two Blondes in a Car...

Sound like the opening line of a blonde joke.  No, no joke here.  Just a couple of cute blondes in a convertible. Oh, and the five year old is driving.

Johnny Rockets

The only thing better than a Johnny Rockets milkshake is a date with my girls at Johnny Rockets.

Riding the Waves

And we have yet another water park first.  Under Daddy's ever watchful eye, Isabella learned to hang on the tube vertically and ride the waves in the wave pool. No really, rode the wild waves and she is so proud of herself.

Water First

With brother off to camp, we took Bella on a surprise trip to Splash Country.  By days end she had mustered up the courage to try her very first tubeless water slide.

A first no more. In fact, she has now conquered it a good dozen times.  Once down she had to do it again and again.

She Has No Idea

Isabella was all sport when we dropped big brother off for camp this morning.  She has no idea how bad she is going to miss him after he's been gone for five straight nights.  Well, all of us for that matter.

Dollywood Diva's

My Diva's spent a wonderful day at Dollywood's Splash Country.  It turned out to be a magnificent day for a water park adventure.

Another upside, Isabella has finally reached the height requirement for the water coaster River Rush.  We enjoyed being able to all ride together on this thrill ride.

Dollywood!!!!!!!!

Isabella rode her first big roller coaster and then road it again and again.  Three rides on the Firechaser Express confirms what we suspected - this girl is a thrill rider. And Daddy was honored to be sitting next to her all three times.

Superman

(Almost) no fear when you're riding with Superman.  Although Isabella and I didn't mind testing his steel on The Scrambler where we nearly crushed him.

Barnstormer

Anatomy of a ride - first they smile like it's going to be no big deal.  Then they smile like "I can handle this."   Then they close their eyes, grab the seat and scream.

Or in the case of superman, he just raises his hands and screams like a girl.

Weekend Road Trip

The kids celebrated their last day school on Wednesday and today the family headed to the mountains for a Memorial Day weekend get away.   And yes, we stopped for a little race time.

Proud to report that Isabella and were released first and were never passed - we managed to keep everyone at bay for five laps.

Old Mill, Never Gets Old

And then to Old Mill where the only thing better than the fried chicken was my dinner date.

Learning at Home

Standing over the sink washing off my apple, I spot a pretty Robin bathing in our fountain.  I pick Isabella up and stand her on the counter to watch the bird hop in, shake, hop out (repeat, repeat).
Isabella was astonished and stood there watching with her mouth open.

Who said you can't learn at home?
