Vacation 2011 - The Surf

The family made our annual pilgrimage to The Surf for some light seafood fare and live entertainment.

Baby Bella wasn't in a dancing mood this evening but the evening wasn't a total loss.  Skyler and I found live music back at the hotel lobby and stayed up way too late enjoying the Jimmy Buffet wanna be's.

Not to worry, not really a sunburn.  Baby Bella showing off her first tan line.  She is a bit of a Coppertone baby.

Vacation 2011 - Sand Sleep

Baby Bella enjoying her nap on the beach.  Daddy donated his hat to keep the sun off of her face.  A good strong breeze today made it a great day to be beached.

Vacation 2011 - A Wise Man..

Skyler informed us he was going to dig to China but became very frustrated after the water continued to intrude and fill up his hole time after time.  Being the compassionate parents that we are, Mommy and I started mocking him with the Sunday School song:

"A wise man builds his house upon the rock.  A foolish man builds his house upon the sand."

It was so cleverly timed and appropriate that even Skyler had to laugh.  One point for the parental units.

Vacation 2011 - Fernandina

The family took a drive into Ferandina for the night.  Baby Bella enjoyed her first look at Coy, watched a train roll down the tracks for the first time and busted a few of her favorite dance moves for the street crowd.

Vacation 2011 - The Carriage Ride

Oh, so many firsts for Baby Bella on this night.  She enjoyed her first carriage ride, her first kiss from a horse and her first touch of a horse.

Skyler isn't pictured in the Carriage because he was invited to sit up front and hold the reigns.  He rewarded old Indy with a kiss on the lips.

I'd say, a pretty good night.  Now let's hope for a good nights rest - defined as Baby Bella sleeping through the night.  Something she hasn't done for six straight nights.

No wonder Baby Bella is a souvenir we brought home from Amelia Island three years ago.  Beauty begets beauty.

Now I remember how we got Baby Bella to take her nap in the beach last year.  We rediscovered the wonders of a walk in the beach today.  Our little beach bum was resting well.

Apparently, Papa has a new fondness for talking on the phone because Bella spent all of her time in the room talking to Papa.  "Hello, Papa.  Hello, Papa.  Hello Papa."
